The Price Guide...
Our first involvement with the internet was with the store Canterbury Collectables in 1996.
Business was very good as there really was very little competition online at that time, particularly in the UK.
Interacting with our new website visitors it soon became clear that many were looking for up to date information on the value of their collections and the internet could be the perfect medium.
So we took the plunge and decided to produce the first online price guide specialising in collectable toys and models.
After many hundreds of hours of input by ourselves and with the help of friends within the industry we finally published a basic text only guide listing about 3500 items in 1998.
The guide was an immediate success and within a short time we began a long program of improvements which continues to this day. One of the many innovations added was the price "Nudging" facility which allows visitors to use their own knowledge and adjust valuations very slightly. This system has proved both popular and very effective in helping keep our values current.
Today the price guide has 35744 models/toy listings and attracts over 50,000 users every month.
Visitors can now manage, value and display their collections online using the ToyMart price guide listings and database.
